Lily Counting Sheep

Lily was a little girl who loved bedtime stories. But one night, she couldn’t fall asleep. She turned left, then right, then upside down — but her eyes stayed wide open. “Try counting sheep,” said her mom with a smile, tucking her in again. Lily closed her eyes. “One sheep... two sheep... three sheep...” Suddenly, a fluffy white sheep jumped over her bed! “Hello!” said the sheep. “I’m Sheep Number One. Nice to meet you!” Lily giggled. “Are you real?” “Of course!” said the sheep, doing a little dance. “More of us are coming!” Soon, more sheep appeared, each one sillier than the last. Sheep Number Four wore sunglasses. Sheep Number Seven did karate kicks. Sheep Number Ten brought cookies! Lily laughed and laughed. But then… yawn… her eyes got heavy. “Goodnight, Lily,” whispered the last sheep. And just like that, Lily was fast asleep — dreaming of dancing sheep in the clouds.
